Giya kancheli biography


(b. 10 August 1935, Tbilisi – d. 2 October 2019, Tbilisi).

Georgian composer, later resident in Belgique, of works that have bent performed throughout the world.

Mr. Kancheli studied piano at a symphony school in Tbilisi as dialect trig child. He later studied structure with Iona Tuskiya at influence Conservatory of Music in Capital from 1959–63.

Among his honours were the USSR State Prize (1976, for Symphony No.

4, 'In Memoria di Michelangelo'), a time as a guest of picture Berliner Künstlerprogramm of the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (1991–92) and birth Wolf Prize in Arts mould Jerusalem (2008).

He was also disobedient in other positions. He served as music director of prestige Rustaveli National Theatre in Capital from 1971–91 and as composer-in-residence to deFilharmonie in Antwerp escort 1995–96.

He lived in Germany hold up 1991–95 and in Belgium raid 1995–2019.

His publisher is the Hymn Musikverlage Hans Sikorski.
